This kit is a combination of the new 2.8W 445nm 9mm Laser Diode Component and the 2.5 Amp matching laser driver kit with a 12V adapter and new upgraded 40mm x 40mm mounted fan to keep it running cool when you are using the laser for extended periods. This includes everything you need to get your laser up and running in your product or project. We now even cable the laser with a Mini Fit Jr. connector at 2.5 feet to make it even easier to hook everything up! The kit includes:

Bigger and Even More Power!
This is the same as our other new 445nm 9mm laser diode but we have added a very high quality G2 optic lens with 30% higher efficiency than our traditional three element glass lens! It has way more power than the 1.7W laser we have been offering. The difference is that this bad boy can run for extended times at 2.2W at 1.7amps! This laser has a maximum limit of over 2.8W at 2.5amps and should only be over-driven like this for very short times. This level of power certainly creates the ability to cut more and do more with your laser. The spot size is a bit bigger, so very small engraving will be a bit more difficult, but the trade-off in more optical power on the work surface is worth it. This laser is very effective and can run for extended times in the 1.3amp to 1.7amp range and we recommend not going much over 2 amps for extended periods of “on time”. This laser also has internal ESD device for an extra level of static protection.
This multi transverse mode laser diode component is pressed fit mounted in an aluminum housing and has an aluminum mountable heat-sink. The laser is set in the heat sink with thermally conductive paste. The front of the component contains a adjustable glass focusing lens for the laser output. The laser has an ABSOLUTE MAXIMUM of 2.8W at 2.5amps and should only be run at this level for very short times. Additional cooling techniques would be advisable if you want to run for extended periods at higher powers. 1.7 amp at 2.2W will allow for longer “on” times and will not degrade the laser as quickly. Thermal issues are the number one reason for catastrophic failure of the laser. While the mounting case provides heat sinking capability for the laser diode, it is up to the consumer to make sure the laser is operating effectively within these limits.

2.5 Amp Version, 12V adapter Kit
This version of the popular High Current Laser Driver offers up a lot of current in a small package for an excellent price. The design team perfected several versions of this driver to give a quality current source with a large compliance voltages with both adapter choices to be able to work with most every laser diode. They packed it with multiple features and made it capable of interfacing with even the oldest of your equipment in your lab or the newest wiz bang in your product or system. This version includes a 12V power adapter that will provide 8 volts at maximum load of 2.5 amps. This can be used to power higher voltage laser diodes in the 4-7 volt range like the 445nm laser diode component. It can also power IR laser diodes in the 2-4 volt range, but it might need additional cooling fan if left on for extended amounts of time.
This driver will provide up to 2.5 amps of constant regulated and protected current to the diode. Configurable current limits with jumpers for 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 and 2.5 amp settings and adjustable output with an analog trim pot. It also can be remotely controlled with an opto isolated input with a super huge range of acceptable voltages for turning your driver on and off. Does your equipment in your project or system that you want to interface with have backwards logic? No problem! There is a jumper for choosing inverted or non inverted logic as well! Perfect for integrating into any final product or project.
