Drawing or Creating an Image<\/h4>\n<p>If you are doing a vector based (outline) engraving, then there are a lot of different programs you can use. \u00a0Adobe Illustrator is a very popular tool for making Vector based drawings. \u00a0It is a bit expensive for us, so we use the free tool of Inkscape. \u00a0You can download inkscape here: \u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/inkscape.org\/en\/download\/\">www.inkscape.org<\/a><\/p>\n<p>If you are doing photos or images (rastor filled) then you will need to make sure your photo is the proper size and resolution for engraving. \u00a0There are plenty of image editing software programs out there. \u00a0We like the free open source editor called &#8220;paint dot net&#8221;. \u00a0You can download it here: \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.getpaint.net\/download.html\">www.getpaint.net\/download.html<\/a><\/p>\n<h4>2. Convert to G Code<\/h4>\n<p>G Code is the &#8220;language&#8221; that your machine uses to know where to move and turn on and off the laser. \u00a0Once you have your drawing or image from step 1 you now need to convert it to G Code to run on the machine. \u00a0We have tutorials on how to do this for both Inkscape (vector) and Laser Etch (rastor). \u00a0Click on the links below to follow the tutorials:<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/jtechphotonics.com\/?page_id=2012\">Inkscape Tutorial\u00a0(Vector)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/jtechphotonics.com\/?p=5149\">Laser Etch Tutorial (Rastor)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<h4>3.
