The PWM channel is set up to act as a remote control Electronic Speed Controller (ESC), but can be used for other PWM functions using these settings.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<table>\n<thead>\n<tr>\n<th>Setting<\/th>\n<th>Description<\/th>\n<th>Notes<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n<\/thead>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>$p1frq<\/td>\n<td>Frequency<\/td>\n<td>in Hz, e.g. 1000<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>$p1csl<\/td>\n<td>Clockwise speed low<\/td>\n<td>In RPM &#8211; arbitrary units unless you calibrate it, e.g. 1000<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>$p1csh<\/td>\n<td>Clockwise speed high<\/td>\n<td>In RPM<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>$p1cpl<\/td>\n<td>Clockwise phase low<\/td>\n<td>0.000 to 1.000, e.g. 0.125 for 12.5% phase angle<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>$p1cph<\/td>\n<td>Clockwise phase high<\/td>\n<td>0.000 to 1.000<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>$p1wsl<\/td>\n<td>Counter clockwise speed low<\/td>\n<td>In RPM<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>$p1wsh<\/td>\n<td>Counter clockwise speed high<\/td>\n<td>In RPM<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>$p1wpl<\/td>\n<td>Counter clockwise phase low<\/td>\n<td>0.000 to 1.000<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>$p1wph<\/td>\n<td>Counter clockwise phase high<\/td>\n<td>0.000 to 1.000<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>$p1pof<\/td>\n<td>Phase off<\/td>\n<td>0.000 to 1.000 used to set OFF phase for PWM devices that are not off at 0 phase<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>Ok, this all seems a bit complicated, but you don&#8217;t need to worry about most of these settings. \u00a0 We will need to now configure your TinyG board to the correct settings to run the laser.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the settings you need to enter:<\/p>\n<p><em>$p1frq=1000<\/em><br \/>\n<em>$p1csl=0<\/em><br \/>\n<em>$p1csh=255<\/em><br \/>\n<em>$p1cpl=0<\/em><br \/>\n<em>$p1cph=1<\/em><br \/>\n<em>$p1pof=0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Follow these steps to enter the codes to your TinyG:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Connect to the TinyG using the control panel software.<\/li>\n<li>Click the Gcode tab (upper left)<\/li>\n<li>Enter PWM settings line by line in command line prompt on bottom of screen<\/li>\n<li>Confirm settings after each line, they will be echoed above<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6807\" src=\"https:\/\/jtechphotonics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/TinyG-JTechLaser-PWM-settings.jpg\" alt=\"TinyG-JTechLaser-PWM-settings\" width=\"922\" height=\"605\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jtechphotonics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/TinyG-JTechLaser-PWM-settings.jpg 922w, https:\/\/jtechphotonics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/TinyG-JTechLaser-PWM-settings-600x394.jpg 600w, https:\/\/jtechphotonics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/TinyG-JTechLaser-PWM-settings-300x197.jpg 300w, https:\/\/jtechphotonics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/TinyG-JTechLaser-PWM-settings-768x504.jpg 768w, https:\/\/jtechphotonics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/TinyG-JTechLaser-PWM-settings-150x98.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 922px) 100vw, 922px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Software Commands<\/h3>\n<p>Your commands for running the laser will be the same as the spindle on command with RPM. \u00a0It is:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>M03 SXXX<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Where the \u201cXXX\u201d is a number between 0 and 255. \u00a0So, some examples are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Laser ON 100%: \u00a0M03 S255<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Laser ON 50%: \u00a0M03 S127<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Laser ON 10%: \u00a0M03 S25<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Laser OFF: \u00a0M03 S0 (or M05 will work as well\u2026)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can use many different programs to generate your g code to run on your TinyG. \u00a0Some tutorials on these are located here:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jtechphotonics.com\/?page_id=5311\">Software G Code Tutorials<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Running the TinyG Laser<\/h3>\n<p>Most people use chilipepper to run the TinyG controller. \u00a0There is also a version for running a laser. \u00a0You can find it here:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/chilipeppr.com\/tinyglaser\">http:\/\/chilipeppr.com\/tinyglaser\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>LaserWeb is also a program that will run with the TinyG controller. \u00a0You can learn about it here:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/cncpro.co\/\">http:\/\/cncpro.co\/\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">So there it is!
