Engraving Anodized Aluminum"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We get asked a lot whether the 2.8W laser upgrade kit can engrave anodized aluminum. \u00a0The answer is yes, for most materials. \u00a0We have tried many in house for the last two years that people have sent us and that we have bought and have not found one it doesn&#8217;t work on. \u00a0That being said, the process of anodization is different for different suppliers, so if you want to make sure you can send us a sample to test out in our lab.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a video of using <a title=\"Laser Etch B\/W Image Engraving SW referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<h3>So Many Uses!<\/h3>\n<p>You can use your laser to make tags for identification purposes. \u00a0You can engrave logos on your products. \u00a0You can engrave 2DID or QR codes on your products for tracking. \u00a0You can even make those really cool aluminum business cards to stand out!<\/p>\n<h3>It&#8217;s FAST, really FAST!<\/h3>\n<p>Yes, the 445nm laser reacts to the anodization really good, so you can engrave really fast. \u00a0We normally engrave at about 4000 mm\/min. \u00a0It really depends on your machine setup. \u00a0On our older 3D printers we can only go up to about 1000mm\/min because the backlash starts to show. \u00a0On our newer models we get really good results at 4000mm\/min:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jtechphotonics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Laser-Engraved-Anodized-Aluminum-Tag-J-Tech-2_8W-laser-Upgrade.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" 2_8W laser Upgrade\" width=\"1024\" height=\"701\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Engrave Precise Logos on Your Products<\/h3>\n<p>You can use the normal vector based approach for an outline logo. \u00a0Depending on your machine you can do this slow or fast. \u00a0It works really good on the black background.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jtechphotonics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Anodized-Aluminum-Testing-445nm-Laser-Logo3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The amount of engraving doesn&#8217;t change with speed. \u00a0As you go faster, you can see you might be limited by your machine. \u00a0This test was done on our OLD makerbot thingomatic a while ago. \u00a0Our new machines are much better, but this shows how speed really doesn&#8217;t effect the amount of engraving level for the anodization.<\/p>\n<p><a
