{"id":33288,"date":"2022-10-03T16:03:28","date_gmt":"2022-10-03T22:03:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jtechphotonics.com\/?post_type=product&#038;p=33288"},"modified":"2023-06-20T11:42:25","modified_gmt":"2023-06-20T17:42:25","slug":"dual-pro-safety-compliant-laser-diode-driver","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/jtechphotonics.com\/?product=dual-pro-safety-compliant-laser-diode-driver","title":{"rendered":"Dual PRO Safety Compliant Laser Diode Driver"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Dual PRO Laser driver<\/h3>\n<p>The J Tech Photonics High Power Laser\/LED driver is designed with features, protection, size, and cost in mind.<\/p>\n<p>We still have all of the features that make this laser kit awesome \u2013 precision laser trimmed regulators for constant current to the laser, 0.01 tuning resolution, digital isolation, soft start, esd protection, current limiting, and the list goes on. \u00a0But NOW we have more safety in mind as well! \u00a0The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fda.gov\/Radiation-EmittingProducts\/RadiationEmittingProductsandProcedures\/HomeBusinessandEntertainment\/LaserProductsandInstruments\/default.htm\">US Federal Government has a list of things<\/a>\u00a0that are required for operating these high power class 4 lasers. \u00a0They might seem trivial, but they could save your eyesight! \u00a0Here is a run down of the\u00a0<em><strong>new safety feature<\/strong><strong>s<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0to protect yourself and others:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Key Switch \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>This key is needed to enable the laser. \u00a0When the key switch is turned on, the laser is enabled and the key CANNOT come out. \u00a0You can only remove the key when it is disabled. \u00a0This feature is good if you have curious children or have your laser in a shared area and want to limit use. \u00a0Just take the key out and hide it!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Remote Interlocks<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 This feature allows for addition of switches to your enclosure so when it is open, the laser will automatically turn off. \u00a0Also provides for the addition of an\u00a0<a title=\"Emergency Stop Switch\" href=\"https:\/\/jtechphotonics.com\/?product=emergency-stop-switch\">E Stop button for the laser<\/a>, which is always good for if you need to stop the laser super quick! \u00a0Add as many switches as you want to make a super safe area for your laser machine so nobody can accidentally look into the laser.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Power Fault Protection\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 This one may seem like it is not needed, but hear us out. \u00a0Consider your power goes out in your area where the laser is located. \u00a0You were running your program and then everything is dark\u2026 \u00a0Power doesn\u2019t come back on for awhile\u2026 long enough for you to forget that the laser was left ON! \u00a0You come back and are checking your laser and boom, the power is back on, right when you are looking straight at it. \u00a0Well, don\u2019t worry because the laser will be disabled whenever the power to the driver is lost. \u00a0Press the reset button and you are back in action!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Emission Indicator\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 \u00a0The small little LED on the front to let you know \u00a0your really super bright laser is on\u2026 \u00a0They require this in case you are using an infrared invisible laser.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Dual PRO Version<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is the new DUAL LASER driver to couple with the 14W DUAL LASER HEAD. As with the previous generations, the driver is designed to follow the federal guidelines for safety compliance for high power Class 4 laser operation. This includes the use of a key enable switch, safety interlock system, power off reset, and laser LED indicators. All of these features make for a safer laser operation and will comply with federal laws regulating such operations.<\/p>\n<p>At the heart of the driver is a current level controller with an inductive loop and a power mosfet to give constant current with enough power capability and control for laser use. Couple this with inherent safety features like soft starting, current isolation, reverse protection, ESD protection, and thermal shutdown control and you have all you need in a small package.<\/p>\n<p>The power level can be controlled via external PWM signal at the recommended frequency of 1Khz. If external PWM is not available, then there is an internal power level adjustment by switching to internal mode.<\/p>\n<p>The Dual laser diode driver is cost effective and easily integrated into industrial, research, or enthusiast projects and products. The driver can be operated in CW mode or in Input Control Mode to be interfaced to remote electronics. This design uses optical isolators for super fast response and input range while protecting the laser from deadly ground loops.
