Photo Engraving Comparison
For a full detailed comparison, check out the blog post here. The short answer is no, there is not a discernable difference between any of the lasers when engraving photos.
2. Choose your mount configuration
There are four options to mount your laser to your machine. You can mount it on the router/spindle holder in the front.
Or you can mount it to the bottom of the 80mm spindle. You will need to make sure you have enough room on the bottom of your spindle to accommodate the laser.
The Makita and DeWalt clamp mounts fit onto the bottom of the router. Just make sure you router is pushed all the way down.
3. Laser and Fan Extension Cable Length:
These laser and fan extension cables allow for longer distances from the laser driver to the laser. If you machine is large and you don’t want to mount the driver on the gantry, then these cables will allow for longer distances between the driver and the laser. This distance adds to the already 3′ laser and fan cable that comes standard.
Cable is 18 AWG with Molex Mini fit Jr. connectors on each side.
Lengths are 5′, 10′, 15′, 20 and 25′.
For a 40″ x 40″ CNC4Newbies machine, you will need 10′ extension cables. Measure out the distance from your gantry to where you will mount your laser driver near the controller.
4. Choose Your Power Cord:
We have options for U.S. (North America), UK (United Kingdom), EU (European Union), and AU (Australia).
